What its really like at Market!

The number one question we get is “so what’s market like?”. I’m here to tell you that it’s not all glitz and glamour. We aren’t there just for fun and to shop. You may think “how hard can it be? You’re just shopping for clothes?!”. But imagine shopping for clothes for thousands of people.. all with different taste and also trying to buy something on trend but not what someone else is selling AND you have to buy 6 at a time.. No not 1 not 2 but 6! So when we buy 1 top that is $10 whole sale we are buying that ONE TOP for $60.

Don’t get me wrong it’s a ton of fun at market. We get to see our vendors that we’ve become very close with. One of our vendors gives us mimosas every time; SO yea he’s our favorite. But when you go to market you’re focused. You have a certain amount of time to look though MILLIONS of clothes. When you get into a retail store you pick through clothes yes, but its usually about 40-50 different styles that store is selling. At mart there are about 500 styles.. So if you see me at mart and I don’t seem bubbly and energetic, its probably because I’m focused and thinking really hard about the budget.

At market, unless you’re in cash and carry, you don’t go home with any of the products you buy. You “pre-order” in a way. You buy 3 months out or at Magic we bought FALL 2018! Yep, the fashion industry is already thinking of FALL! and Fall just ended! Crazy right? But you gotta always be prepared!

Mart is about every 2 month in ATL. Some marts are better than others and since ATL is only 2 hours from me that the main one I go to and then Magic twice a year! Magic is 10X more over whelming and you have 3 days to get your ish done! 3DAYS! And there is so much to see!

We sneaked a couple pieces on our Instagram! But here they are on the blog! Photos seen will be here between Now and August!
